lit.doc: Born in New York City, grew up in Denver, moved to Austin for doctoral work, escaped back to Colorado when I retired. BBA Accounting, Colorado State (then Coopers & Lybrand, i.a.), MBA Info Systems, U of Colorado (then American Management Systems, i.a.), was eventually able to flee Corporate America (round peg in square hole) for the Academy, there to immerse myself in the Humanities. MA English Lit, U of Colorado, PhD English Lit, U of Texas. Taught college for five years (while at CU and UT) then made deal with the devil (teaching high school English) for health care, pension, regular hours, no more preasure to publish, and being able to buy a house and settle down.
